Mama Judi, Papa Tom, Opa, Mia, Nonno and Grandma!!

Two moms and SIX grandparents...what a lucky kid!! :)   Each parent and grandparent, only three months into the pregnancy, has already claimed their own special name, lol.

A guide for the perplexed:

Ema = Mel
Mama = Shayna
Nonno = David, Mel's step-dad
Grandma = Laura, Mel's mom
Opa = Peter, Mel's dad
Mia = Tina, Mel's step-mom
Mama Judi = Judi, Shayna's mom
Papa Tom = Tom, Shayna's dad

A few weeks ago now, we told each of our parents about the pregnancy over Skype.  It was an amazingly special time. For each set of grandparents, they opened (or saw over Skype) different presents which told them we were pregnant...SO fun.  Priceless faces and responses.

Here's some pics of the fun...

Grandma in her "don't I look to young to be a Grandma?" tanktop

Nonno in his "Il Nonno" t-shirt

Opa and Mia (grandparents of three already!) with their "Opa of 3 +1" and "Mia of 3 +1" mugs

An amazing video of the voice of Mama Judi and Papa Tom, as they reach the last page of their photo album with a picture of the first ultrasound:

6 happy grandparents!!  What an incredible blessing!!!

Hello 13 weeks, hello baby bump! :)

After seven weeks solid of 24-hr a day 'morning' sickness, a week-long bronchial infection, side stitches, nose bleeds, heartburn, and food aversions...we welcome the 2nd trimester with open arms!! :)

We've got a textbook pregnant lady on our hands, and like clockwork, we noticed a lil baby bump for the first time this morning...let the second trimester begin!!

Times they are a changin...

Sometimes writing is the key to understanding.  We've been dreaming of this for years.  We'd been trying for 11 months.  We've been knowingly pregnant now for 9 weeks.  And yet somehow, we are still working on wrapping our brains around the idea that come August of THIS year, our entire lives will change, and we will be parents.  We created this blog for two reasons, to chronicle and share with our loved ones the happenings of our journey to and thru parenthood, and to help us comprehend ourselves, through writing, that our dreams of having a baby are, God willing, headed to fruition.

It's going to be quite a ride, friends and family, and we are blessed to have you along with us.
