A perfect dress to show off the bump!

16 weeks.

Ten fingers, ten toes

Today was our big 16 week ultrasound, which coincided with the first occasion that someone stood up on the subway to give Shayna their seat.  Awesome! All in all, a big day for coming to the realization that this is really happening!

We spent 45 minutes today looking at every angle of our 5 oz, 6 inch long fetus...the most amazing thing to see.  The doctor, and we, took careful inventory....ten fingers, ten toes, good bones, aligned vertibrae, strong blood flow to all the right places, a beating heart with valves, and two hemispheres to a tiny little brain.  "Are you sure you don't want to know the sex of the baby?", he asked at the end of it all.  As we ferociously shook our heads no, he proclaimed "well, I can tell you 100% sure that it is either a boy or a girl."  Goofy doctor.  The perfect tone for a giggly, giddy experience.

Our baby has ten fingers and ten toes.  That is a great start.
