It Takes A Village...

to wrap a rat pup.

Brooklynites are too cool for strollers.  To start us off in the hip scene of parenting in Park Slope, Zena and Ilana got us our Moby wrap for my birthday!

We're pretty certain this is the ideal way to stroll (pun intended) the streets with any little one under 6 months or so.  Someday, we will figure out how to use it.  For the time being though, it takes a village to get this crazy long wrap secured on with a bimba inside (we practiced with our adorably soft and squishy 'rat pup', as dubbed by Zena).

Thank goodness we have our friends behind us!

Baby hangers and a bump update

When I woke up on the morning of my birthday, Shayna asked me what I would like to do most with my day (she had to go to work, and I was on my own until tutoring in the afternoon)...the choice was clear...time for...

BABY HANGERS!

I walked 4.5 miles over the Brooklyn Bridge and uptown to Union Square to hit up Babies R Us....which proved to be a total nightmare of a place.  Important realization, both for logistics of baby supply gathering and to know that I will never have to go there ever again!  Though we did not prove to be soul mates (like I am with Costco, or any art supply store), the time was pretty great.  I managed to shlep enough baby hangers back to hang all of what we have deemed 'going out clothes' for the baby.  Pretty much, all our favorites.

SO much fun.  Here's my excited face putting up the first outfits in our new armoire and Shayna's ever-present baby bump by our new tree decal during the festivities!

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Decaling a giant, 6 foot tree with adorable little animals on and around it may be the most satisfying Sunday afternoon activity of all time.

A shout out to our friend, Ben Stein, for joining for the festivities and sharing his expertise with us novice decalers.  Just another indication of the importance of having loving, supportive people around you that have already done this crazy thing called the first year of parenthood.

Take a look at the stages of our awesome decal.  Now we really have a baby's room.

Onward bound to getting our OWN room in order before the baby comes.  Or else we might be sleeping in the crib with the bimba....cause this room is ballin'.
