"The due date is in the 10 day forecast"...Mel said those words to me a few minutes ago while checking the weather! What a crazy feeling to hear that phrase...and yet, I am ready to hear it. Yesterday, I made it through the last day at work where I REALLY needed to be there (A Bat Mitzvah followed by a baby naming, while 9 months pregnant...oy). I came home completely exhausted, but so happy to have completed that day that I have thought about getting through for so long. And now...I feel ready! Not that I am really ready to not be pregnant anymore, but I just feel ready to meet this little baby who has been dancing in my tummy for all of these months.
In the beginning, it seemed this pregnancy was flying by. I could hardly keep track of how many weeks pregnant I was because they seemed to pass so quickly. I started to get a bit scared that it would all pass by without me paying too much attention to it. But then, a couple of months ago, everything slowed down. Now I feel like I can hardly remember not being pregnant, and it feels like this pregnancy has been so much longer than my first. Part of that is because it has been a harder time for me--more aches and pains and a lot more exhaustion. Another part is because I have been so busy! Amichai was born in August when work is really slow for me. I went from summer into maternity leave and had basically nothing I had to do except wait for our babe to come. This time, it has been full speed ahead all fall--with the Holy Days and then the general craziness of the fall season at my job. There has not been a moment of down time and that has been hard.
But, despite all of that, we made it to this weekend. Now it is time for us to just rest and prepare our house and our hearts to welcome another member of our family! It could be any day now...the due date is, after all...in the 10 day forecast. :)
We will keep you all posted!!
Just got butterflies in my tummy by the mention of this. Thinking about all of you and can't wait to hear when the babe arrives.
